CAROLE YOUNG...
WHO AM I
I’m an English born, New Zealand bred, Australian domiciled physiotherapist who has specialised in rehabilitation services, injury prevention and assisting workers get back to work after serious injury. I am a pioneer and leader in the field of Occupational Health, Safety & Rehabilitation (OHS&R) to Australian industry. I wrote one of the leading texts on implementing the Workers Compensation Rehabilitation regulations. I have 35 years’ experience in occupational rehabilitation. I have also studied, taught and consulted in the field of social and environmental sustainability for 10 years.
WHAT I DO
I work with both the body and the mind to release trauma that gets 'lodged' in the sympathetic nervous system.
WHY I DO IT
To enable people to live productive, pain free, and authentic lives which we all deserve, and from which all society benefits.
HOW I DO IT
I have chosen three cutting-edge techniques (along with a number of 'bottom up' embodied approaches as required). The Richards Trauma Process or ‘TRTP’ for short, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS or 'parts' work) and a 'hands on' approach called Associative Awareness Technique (AAT) which all work by healing the damaged or traumatized 'parts' of ourselves.
WHY TRTP, AAT and IFS?
They work! They work quickly, gently, safely and do not retraumatize the client. So they are more cost effective than months, or even years, of therapy. I understand the research and science behind why they work. I’m incredibly impressed and excited by these processes and the long-term outcomes they achieve.
